The Ornamental City
Completed for a philanthropy event hosted by the Society of Business Management in Architecture (SBMA), the Ornamental City was one of the gallery works submitted. The design was original and aimed to blend both gothic elements as well as renaissance flourishes. The combination of both triangular and curved forms gave the cathedral a balanced yet sharp look.
“Often times design goes through iteration and critique. The Ornamental Cities cathedral however was intuitive, a culmination of leisurely sketched portals, rose windows and spires, The cathedral was never supposed to be great or reiterated. Yet in is leisurely conception, it provides and escape for a moment from the pursuit of purpose and meaning. And in this void of purpose, it stands humble yet, enduring.”
